B&BF are now on Twitter
B&BF enters the world of social networking on 10th May with the launch of its new Twitter account. You can follow us at Twitter@bbfinfo or visit our website and click on the Twitter link.
B&BF will be posting about things we are passionate about.
One of the first postings on Twitter will be the unveiling of B&BF's new look Just Can't Wait toilet card. Using what is considered to be a universally accepted generic toilet image, the new look card should help reduce any embarrassment the holder may feel when using it and ensure there is no confusion about the purpose of the card. The clearly defined 'toilet' image is one that is frequently seen on toilets throughout the world and may also help people access facilities in situations where English may not be the first spoken language.
Finding a toilet when away from home remains a primary focus of many people affected by a bladder or bowel problem. Unfortunately it is also one of the reasons why so many cut down on social activities and in some cases stop going out altogether.
Whilst B&BF's toilet card does not guarantee access to toilets that may not otherwise be available to the general public, it does state the holder has a medical condition and needs to use the toilet quickly. In B&BF's experience most places visited are willing to help.
The card is a small, credit sized card, designed to fit easily into a purse, wallet or pocket. It can help boost confidence and offers peace of mind when away from home, and can be used when out shopping and socialising.
As a national charity reliant on donations to fund and continue our work, we do ask for a donation of £5 towards the cost of producing the card and sending it out.
Patients can apply for one of the new cards by visiting the toilet card page on B&BF's website, where they will need to complete the online application form. For non-internet users a card can also be requested by phone, email or letter. Please contact the office on 01536 533255.
