Methods of managing bowel control problems

There are a number of options to help you manage your faecal incontinence and bowel related problems. These range from conservative treatments such as diet and medication to surgical procedures. It is essential that you are properly assessed. The National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) has issued a clinical guideline on faecal incontinence (CG49). The guidelines are available from www.nice.org.uk
