Urostomy

What is a urostomy?

A urostomy is a creation of a new exit for the passage of urine from the body. The normal urinary tracts consist of 2 kidneys, ureters, one bladder and one urethra. Urine is made in the kidneys and moved through the ureters by squeezing movements to the bladder. Urine is then stored until the bladder is full and is then passed via the urethra.
