Pelvic floor Exercises

Pelvic floor exercises, also known as Kegel exercises or pelvic muscle rehabilitation can, if done correctly, help you improve your bladder and bowel control and improve or prevent leakage.  Like any other muscles in the body, the more you use and exercise them, the stronger the pelvic floor muscles will be.

To achieve the best results you may need to seek help from a specialist continence physiotherapist or continence advisor.  They will have a range of treatments available that can  help you learn how to strengthen your pelvic floor muscles.

B&BF also has a fact sheet available for women and men, explaining how the pelvic floor works and how to do your exercises.  If you would like a copy please download it here - Pelvic Floor Excercises for Women or Pelvic Floor Exercises for Men or call us on 01536 533255 and we can post you a copy.

If you would like to find out where your nearest continence clinic is to seek help with doing your exercises, please visit our Continence Clinic Search facility or call us on 01536 533255.
