Mixed Urinary Incontinence
Mixed urinary incontinence is the involuntary leakage associated with Stress Urinary Incontinence and Urge Urinary Incontinence, and can also include Nocturia and Dribbling. Some people have a mixture of all these different symptoms which may have several different causes.
You may find that you have an urgent need to go to the toilet followed by leakage, as well as accidentially leaking when you laugh, cough, sneeze or do physical exercise. These symptoms may be accompanied by a need to get up at night and/or dribbling immediately after you have finished passing urine. It is usual for one of these symptoms to cause you more problems than the other, and this will dictate the treatment that is offered to you first.
If you are concerned about your problem and it is starting to affect your day to day life make an appointment to see your doctor, continence nurse or specialist physiotherapist. A continence nurse and specialist physiotherapist are healthcare professionals who specialise in bladder and bowel problems.
