Fesoterodine

Fesoterodine fumarate is a medicine used to help treat symptoms of an overactive bladder such as urinary incontinence, urgency or frequency. It works by reducing spasms of the bladder muscle which can help to reduce the episodes of urinary incontinence or reduce the feeling of urgency that bladder spasms can cause.

Fesoterodine fumarate is not suitable for everyone so it's important that the person prescribing this medicine knows your full medical history.

You may not be suitable for this medication if you:

  • are allergic or sensitive to or have had a bad reaction to products containing peanut or soya in the past
  • are allergic or sensitive to or have had a reaction to any of the ingredients in the medicine
  • have autonomic neuropathy
  • have galactose intolerance
  • have gastrointestinal problems
  • have gastro-oesophageal reflux
  • have glaucoma
  • have glucose-galactose malabsorption problems
  • have kidney problems
  • have Lapp lactase deficiency
  • have liver problems
  • have myasthenia gravis
  • have or have risk factors for certain types of heart problems
  • have prostate problems
  • have ulcerative colitis
  • have urinary retention

Side Effects

Everyone's reaction to a medicine is different. You may experience some of the side effects listed belowor none at all. If you are having problems with this medicine, its important to tell your GP immediately.

A very common side effect of taking Fesoterodine fumarate is dry mouth.
